RIP

1. Routing Information Protocol. A protocol allowing a router to exchange routing information with other gateways and hosts. RIP versions:

RIP-1	Universally supported. Defined by RFC 1058.
RIP-2	Carries more ...n RIP-1. Defined by RFC 1389.
RIP-2B	Sends routing information in RIP-2 format using subnet broadcasting.

2. Raster Image Processor.

3. Rest In Peace. Abbreviation traditionally found on some tombstones but also used occasionally to mean that a service is no longer provided.
