z-order

z-order: The order of 2 dimensional objects along a notional z axis. The z-order is a representation of the order in which 2 dimensional graphics (or shapes) are drawn. Items with a lower z-order will be drawn on top of (and therefore obscure and appear on top of) items with a higher z-order.
