- 8 bit unsigned integer. Also referred to as a
byte
and sometimes (inaccurately) as a character (because one byte can hold a
single 7 or 8 bit character).
An 8 bit unsigned integer can hold any value
from 0 to 255 (2816-1 or 0xff hex)
