LOD

1. Level of Detail. Refers to the practise of geographic systems displaying varying levels of detail depending on the level of zoom to prevent a (map) display from being too cluttered.

2. Lines of Documentation.

3. Law of Demeter (LoD). A software development design rule for the design of object orientated systems. It can be summarised by the motto "only talk to your immediate friends", or more formally as "Each unit should have only limited knowledge about other units: only units closely related to the current unit".
