IMC

IMC: Internet Mail Connector. The service in early versions of Microsoft Exchange server that was responsible for communicating with internet email systems and other SMTP capable systems to effect the transport of email messages (both to and from the Exchange server). Renamed to Internet Management System (IMS) in Exchange 5.
