DDB

Device Dependent Bitmap. A bitmap format which in some way is related to a specific hardware device. A device dependent bitmap is normally managed by a specific hardware device, such as a video card.

A DDB may be held in memory (stored to disk) or stored in device memory. cf DIB.

A DDB is also known as a DFB (Device Format Bitmap).
