A .log1 file is typically a text file, but this may vary according to the application which generates it. Typically a .log1 file will be generated in those instances where a .log file also exists but is used for a different purpose or has different information logged to it.
This file (together
possibly with a .log2 file) will be found in the folder %SystemRoot%\System32\config.
The exception to this is the user data hive (ntuser.data.log1) which is
maintained separately for each user in %UserProfile%.

Can you add to this? Do you know of any applications not already listed which will work with .log1 files, view, or open .log1 files? Are you able to contribute any additional reference or file format information about .log1 files, or have you spotted any errors or omissions? If so then please let us know by emailing us at feedback@cryer.co.uk. Thank you.
