The banner ads page has had a refresh. The list of online banner creation sites now includes a star rating and the newcomer "sguazzo" has joined the list of banner creation sites listed.
vhdisk.com has been added to the list of online storage providers .
A new utility has been released - CryEcho - like the standard "echo" command line command this displays a message to standard out, but unlike "echo" it does not add a newline. This gives extra flexibility to batch files - although realistically the majority of batch files would not benefit from the added flexibility.

Published a set of site policies. These will be reviewed from time to time and are intended to address some of the questions and emails we receive from time to time.

In response to demand, a new article has been added "Different Colour Bullet Lists" which covers how to change the colour of the bullet points in a bullet list.

We have decided to follow our own SEO advice ( SEO tip 4 - Naming of pages ) and move our file types resource from www.cryer.co.uk/filetypes to www.cryer.co.uk/file-types. Hopefully the redirections we have in place will mean that none of our visitors will notice a difference, but this subtle renaming should give Google and other search engines a little more to go on.

The Glossary of IT Terms and the File Types list are both having a spring clean, with several incorrect page headings having been found and corrected.

The first version of a new information portal http://explained.at has gone live. This includes the encyclopaedia at http://everything.explained.at and the tongue-in-cheek http://women.explained.at. Development of explained.at has taken precedence over development of the cryer.co.uk site, so it is hoped that once the teething problems are out of the way that some planned redevelopment of the cryer.co.uk site can proceed.

In response to demand the article " How to implement an automatic slide show " has been updated so that the fade effect now works across all popular browsers (tested with IE, Firefox and Opera). Previously the fade effect only worked for IE.
New article " How to fade one image into another " added under Html and JavaScript. This new article covers how to use JavaScript to fade one image into another in a manner which is cross browser compatible.
