Universal Description, Discovery and Integration. A method for finding new Web Services by referring to a central directory. The specification for an index of all available Web services which is comparable to a global Yellow-Pages directory. UDDI helps businesses to produce descriptions of the services they offer, pass on details to the registry and thus appear to be a services provider. Using the UDDI method, Web services users can send enquiries in the form of SOAP messages to the central registration point to ascertain suppliers of a particular service.
