RAID

RAID
Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks.

The idea of a RAID is to combine a number of disk drives to give better performance, capacity and reliability than could be achieved by a single disk. For a description of the different types of RAID see RAID level.

Sometimes also referred to as a RAID Array.

cf JBOD.
