Policy

Policy
1. An adopted plan or course of action. For example, a company may have a written policy on the disposal of equipment.
2. A set of rules that control some aspect of a system's behaviour, often enforced automatically by the system. For example a password policy would specify things like minimum password length and password history.
3. A contract of insurance. This is a document setting out what is and is not covered under an insurance contract and any limitations and responsibilities of the insurance company or the policy holder.
