Kill File

Kill File
1. A list of blacklisted users used by Newsgroup readers.

Newsgroup (UseNet) readers normally provide a kill file facility whereby posts from selected users can be ignored and screened out. This facility is used to hide newsgroup postings from known trolls.

The kill file is known by other names, for example "Block Sender".

For more information see:

cf Plonk.

2. To add someone to the kill file list.

To kill file someone is to add them to the kill file (see above), which means that they will then be blocked and their posts not appear.
