1. Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. FUD can be used to describe any process that seeks to advantage through the use of fear, uncertainty and doubt. The classic example of FUD is a method used by sales or marketing departments to promote their product by disseminating information about a competitor's product with the intention of invoking any combination of fear, uncertainty or doubt.
2. Frustrate, Undermine and Demoralize.
