FTPES

FTPES
File Transfer Protocol over explicit TLS/SSL. FTPES is FTP over SSL (otherwise known as FTPS) but with an explicit request for SSL security.

A client using FTPES connects to the standard FTP command port (port 21), and then makes an explicit request to the server to use SSL security. The request to use SSL/TLS security is performed before the username and password are sent, so unlike standard FTP the username and password are not sent in the clear but are encrypted.
