Default

Default: 1. A defined behaviour (or value) to be taken when no other behaviuor (or value) has been specified.
For example: in software procedures often take parameters and here a default value would indicate the value to use for a parameter when the caller does not explicitly provide a value to use.; 2. In finance a default indicates an inability to pay a debt when it becomes due.
