- CHAP
- 1. Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol.
An authentication protocol. The server sends the client a (one time) key to
be used to encrypt a username and password combination. Subsequently the
server may reconfirm the connection by repeating the process - this is to
protect against an attacker substituting a different client once the
connection has been made.
