.sav

1. Application backup file. '.sav' is a generic file extension used by many different applications when generating a backup file.

2. Application saved data file. 'sav' is a generic file extension used by may applications to denote a saved data file.

3. Game (or application) save file. Whilst most applications create files with specific file extensions a minority use the generic '.sav' file extension. It is also quite common for games to save to '.sav' files.

4. SPSS data file.
