- 1. Windows 3.x permanent swap file.
- 386part.par
- Windows 3.x permanent swap file. Normally located in the
C:\Windowsfolder.
- 2. Parity index file. Also known as a Parchive index file.
A .par file contains information about what files exist in a .rar compressed volume set. The .par file should be accompanied by one or more parity volume files, named .P01, .P02 etc.
.par files follow the Parity Volume Specification 1.0 which has now been superseded. cf .par2.
