Information file (used in Windows).

autorun.inf

A file commonly found in the top level directory of CDs (data CDs not audio CDs). If the file exists then when the CD is loaded into a pc it is automatically read and commands in it are executed. The file is named autorun because it provides a means to make a CD automatically load and run software. This is commonly used by installation CDs to provide a prompt asking whether to load the software on the CD.
