Hyper Text Markup (HTML) file.

A .html file is a text file, containing HTML used for web pages.

HTML pages composed on Windows platforms tend to have either a .html or a .htm file extension, whilst pages composed on other platforms use .html, but both file extensions are otherwise equivalent.
