Tinderbox is an application designed to help visualise, analyse and share notes.

Each Tinderbox data file (.tbx) contains data stored as XML.

An ArcGIS toolbox file contains a collection of geoprocessing tools. They are used by ArcGIS. The files are binary files, but may contain some recognisable text strings.

4. Term Base eXchange file.

A Term Base eXchange (.tbx) file is an XML based file for the exchange of structured terminological data. It is used when exchanging terms and glossaries for different languages.

Since Term Base eXchange files are XML files they are sometimes given the file extension of .xml instead of .tbx.

These files are also known as TermBase eXchange files, i.e. without the space between "Term" and "Base".
