1. Song file. Also known as a Midi song file.

A song file (.sng) is typically created using a MIDI-compatible device or application (such as an application which might be bundled with some sound cards). The .sng files stores the musical notes and not the audio.

Unfortunately a number of different applications have used .sng to store music, and not all of these are compatible.

Depending on the software used to create the .sng file it may be an XML style text file or it may be a proprietary format.

2. Korg Song file.

A .sng file may be a Korg Song file. This is a proprietary format binary fine, that can be played on Korg synthesizers.

3. Presentation Manager song file.

Presentation Manager stores words to songs in a .sng file. The .sng file is an XML style text file.

These are also known as Creative Lifestyle song files.
