.1st file extension

.1st
Plain ASCII text "read-me" file. Many applications provide a plain text "read-me" file with them. Whist typically such files are called "readme.txt" occasionally such a file may be called readme.1st as a way of emphasising that the file should be read first before tinkering with the accompanying application or data.

A .1st file can be opened using notepad or any other text editor.

Note: the file extension .1st is sometimes confused with .lst ("L" instead of "1") because in some fonts the two look similar.

Can you add to this? Do you know of any applications not already listed which will work with .1st files, view .1st files or open .1st files? Are you able to contribute any additional reference information or file format information about .1st files or have you spotted any errors or omissions? If so please let us know by emailing us at feedback@cryer.co.uk - Thank you.
