1. Thunderbird Mail Summary file. Also known as a Thunderbird email index file.

The .msf file is a "mail summary file". It does not contain the body of email but indexes into a second file (with no file extension but which should be located in the same folder) that contains the body of the emails.

2. Miranda IM skin file. The skin file (*.msf) contains a definition for the appearance of the Miranda IM contact list.
