1. Diamond Directive File.

This is a text file, so can be opened using any text editor. A .ddf file contains information needed by the process of compressing files into a .cab (Microsoft Cabinet compressed file archive) file, although the .ddf file is not itself contained in the resultant .cab file.

2. Doom Definition File.

A .ddf file contains definitions of objects for use in the game DOOM.
