1. Layout file for EAGLE EDA system. EAGLE is a layout editor tool for designing printed circuit boards (PCBs). The .brd file contains a schematic for a PCB.

Whilst this file originates from EAGLE EDA system (EAGLE stands for Easily Applicable Graphical Layout Editor), some other CAD packages can also read this format.
