FAQ: What does the message "Renegotiating connection" mean?
Occasionally in the log the message "Renegotiating connection" may appear. This message means that an unexpected error has been encountered whilst communicating with the FTP server and that Web Site Publisher is about to re-establish the connection and retry the operation. For example a poor quality network connection can sometimes manifest itself by the connection to the FTP server being broken. If on a subsequent retry it still cannot succeed then the error may cause Web Site Publisher to stop and issue an error message.
Normally "Renegotiating connection" is a message that should not cause any concern, because Web Site Publisher will re-establish the connection and continue.
