MS-Windows Troubleshooting
You do not have access to set License options
Symptom:
When trying to run License Manager on the file server, it
refuses to run, popping up a message box with the error:
You do not have access to set License options
Cause:
The only time this has been observed was after someone had
tinkered with the registry and changed the access permissions on part of
the registry. Although it is possible that a non-administrator account is
being used.
Remedy:
-
Confirm that the account used is a member of the local
administrators group. (Domain Admins normally are.)
-
Check the permissions on the registry key ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\
SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\ LicenseInfo’. The permissions
on this key (and subsequent keys) should be set to:
| Administrators |
