How to tell which exchange service pack has been installed

On Exchange 2003, to identify which Exchange service pack has been installed:

  1. Start "Exchange System Manager"
  2. Expand the "Administrative Groups" and navigate down to the server.
  3. Right click the server and select "Properties"
  4. On the "General" tab, underneath the server name, it which service pack has been installed (if any).

For example: Version 6.5 (Build 7638.2: Service Pack 2)

Remember that if you have more than one exchange server you should check which service pack has been installed on each of them.

If you are not running with the latest Exchange Server service pack then you should seriously consider upgrading.

These notes have been tested with Exchange Server 2003. They are believed to be applicable also to Exchange Server 2000.
